INTRODUCTION

The Royal Cambrian Academy Annual Open Exhibition traditionally attracts works from the Welsh environs and beyond. This dynamic and varied exhibition is open to painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media and sculpture. All selected work will be for sale and exhibited online and as always in the Royal Cambrian Academy gallery, government restrictions at the time allowing. The exhibition will run from Saturday 13th February – Saturday 10th April.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, to make the process of submitting and selecting work simpler and safer the Academy will select works for exhibition from online only this year. Successful artists will be notified and required to deliver their work to the gallery.

BASIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • The exhibition is open to all artists and students of eighteen and over
  • A maximum of 2 works may be submitted per applicant
  • The artwork may be submitted in any medium , 2D or 3D, a recommended size of up to 100cm x 100cm including the frame, 100cm x 100cm footprint for sculpture
  • All works must be for sale
  • The work is executed by the artist and declared their bona fide property and that no other person has any financial or other interest in the work

PRIZES

  • Selector’s Prize £1,000, awarded by the Academy and Friends of the Royal Cambrian Academy
  • Ffin-y-Parc Prize £500
  • People’s Choice Prize £100
  • An exhibition opportunity will be offered to prize winners and artists commended by the judges

ENTRY FEES

  • £15 for one artwork
  • £25 for two artworks
  • Students with a valid NUS card £10 for one artwork and £20 for two artworks
